Huawei MateBook D 14 review: Quiet office laptop with a long battery life

Hmmm... Do you know that if there is no display at all, it will "work" even longer?
LOL. Almost no display brightness. Tell me who uses these?

Innolux (ChiMei) - Very bad

Avoid these laptops like the plague.  It's a good thing you can only find Matebook D 15 (AUO screen) almost everywhere while sighting of Matebook D 14 (ChiMei screen) is rare...  Matebook D is the cheap/budget lineup from Huawei meaning it's the Huawei bottom of the pile crap no sane person should be buying.

It is not necessary.
Here is an example for you. Yes, yes. The laptop is more than 10 years old, the screen was produced in 2011, but years later even it was "reference". And here is the screen from Chi Mei.
So the issue is not with the manufacturer of the screens, but with what quality the laptop manufacturer puts the screen.
