Das Mate 20 Pro bietet als eines der wenigen Android-Handys sichere Gesichtserkennung auf Basis von 3D-Modellen, ähnlich wie bei Apples Face ID. Ein künftiges Update, das nun in China ausgerollt wird, erlaubt hierfür auch die Registrierung eines Zweit-Gesichts für Partner oder Familienmitglieder.
