Dell is also working on fixing XPS 15 9575 DPC latency issues

Although most DPC latency-related complaints we heard so far from Dell XPS users involved the XPS 15 9570, it looks like the XPS 15 9575 convertible is also plagued by such problems. Frank Azor has recently confirmed that Dell is working on a fix for this problem and that he will keep everyone updated on the progress.

The first 9570 I bought had the latency issue, but I had to replace it due to that issue and the blue screen of death. The replacement works perfectly thank goodness. No latency no problems.

My Dell xps-13 will drop bluetooth mouse and headphones for no apparent reason. The bluetooth icon will disappear from the desktop and I have to reboot and make a bios change to restore the icon and bluetooth. Drops out once every week or so.

I have just bought a Dell XPS 15 9575 to replace a 6 year old Macbook Air as I wanted faster processing and larger RAM so I could work on bigger projects, I also fancied steering clear of Apple for obvious reasons.

The Dell however, is pretty much useless due to latency. I will be getting a refund. If I don't, I will have a massively expensive paper weight and a lifetime avoidance of anything Dell along with telling every person I can about it.

The XPS 15 line even shows up on most searches for good laptops for music production... are these being generated by Dell sales teams or something? Bizarre.

As you can see in one previous answer, at least some people were lucky to receive one without the DPC latency problem after returning the faulty unit for replacement. Maybe you could try doing the same, at least once. ;)

Do you guys think we will get successor to the 9575 around Q3-Q4 of 2019? If so, will it include a 10nm Ice Lake CPU?

HP recently switched from Kaby Lake G to i7-8750H and 1050 Ti Max-Q on the Spectre x360 15 if that gives you an idea. Ice Lake would be great for performance and battery life, except that for some reason OEMs aren't willing to invest in U-CPU + dGPU systems.

I hope the 9575 successor will go full AMD, for both the CPU and dGPU. Intel should also release its hold on TB3 controllers by then too and we can finally expect some price drops.

That is if Dell improves the soldered RAM, small battery, poor keyobard, I/O and speakers. Being first gen, the entire hardware was a giant mess and on top of it, overpriced by a huge margin compared to the Spectre x360 and Yoga 730 15.

An ideal performance 2-in-1 would be a Thinkpad X1 Extreme Yoga with the whole retracting, spill-proof keyboard (X1 Yoga) and the front-facing soundbar hinge (Yoga C930) should Lenovo decide to make it. Now wouldn't that be amazing?

The Waves MaxAudio garbage unfortunately ships with all Dell business laptops I've tested (XPS 13 and the Latitude 7490) which causes heavy postprocessing and audible artifacts when playing audio even through connected headphones. I wish that future reviews would take note of such a critical problem and penalize accordingly, since it makes these Dell laptops completely unuseable for any audio work. Its the only way to apply enough pressure to get this fixed.

Since I can't post links, search for "Kevin Shroff's Modded Realtek Audio Drivers" to get an idea of the extreme effort required to fix this and even then, only for select models.

A number of people including me reported an issue with the 9575's fans coming on rather violently (and independent of temps) as soon as the display angle exceeds 180 degrees, i.e., when the display is folded back for tent or tabled. This seems to have become really bad with BIOS 1.9.0 (was at least better with 1.7.0) and was not improved with BIOS 1.2.0. It makes the device's tent mode (typically used for watching videos) rather pointless. The product team has not been responsive so far. It would be great if you could bring this to Frank's attention. This site does not let me post a link to the Dell community forum thread that features many independent confirmations, but search for "9575 fan noise tent mode" in the Dell community.

I bought a XPS 9575 six months ago. So far I've experienced some issues:
- massive throttling (CPU and GPU only at 70°C)
- latncy issues. Even only listening to music is not always a pleasure
- Touchpad issues. Replaced multiple times.
- and some other minor issues

I'm experiencing similar issues on my xps 9575. I'm sure it has something to do with this bios 48° thing. When i desactivated the chipset, gpu ran at 2 or 3%, then launched a game (small eu4), and all the activity has been transfered to the CPU itself ! neither the chipset (desactivated) nor the gpu was running for this task. strange.

I also had some linux issues but everything seems fixed now.

My 9575 has issues where occasionally while browsing in Google Chrome, the ability to use the trackpad to scroll up and down a webpage is lost.

The other issue, has been the Realtek HD audio drivers.  Their latest version fixed some issues (sound dropping out while watching video), but introduced a bug in which inserting headphones leaves the sound still playing on the speakers (it doesn't switch to the headphones).
