Slimmed down. The new version of the Inspiron 15 from the 7000-series is much thinner than the predecessor and now has a 4K display as well. But the diet is not only limited to the chassis: You also have to live with drawbacks in regard to the graphics performance and the battery runtimes.

Baffled by the results for the contrast & screen brightness, as I've seen other reviews which quote over 270 as minimum values.  I own this model and find the screen to be more than acceptably bright (though I agree the contrast could probably be better).

The one thing I have noticed however is that there's is some irritating adaptive brightness technology on battery mode which messes around with the backlight & contrast under normal use.  Were your tests performed on mains or battery?

We test the display with AC.

To deactivate adaptive brightness: Check the the advanced settings of your Windows energy profile and the settings in the Intel display driver panel.

So looking at the specs on dell.com it looks like the model should come equipped with a 58whr battery. Is this a test unit?
