Heute endet der Einführungszeitraum von Microsofts OS-Version Windows 8 Pro. Zeitgleich geht heute die Edition Windows 8 ohne das Kürzel "Pro" an den Start. Zum 1. Februar 2013 wird diese Version erstmals als Download sowie im Handel für 119,99 Euro erhältlich sein.
