putting 24GB/1TB into a weak SoC doesn't translate into a better buy. In fact, it's the literal "solution" that has been plaguing entry-level budget laptops.
back then, in that price bracket, you get trash display and build quality laptop but latest CPU, kinda expandable memory and replaceable drives (if lucky, you can even found 1xM2 along with SATA). these days, you got even worse disadvantage, namely fully soldered memory using 4-5 years old CPU that has significant performance difference and efficiency.
MacBook Neo isn't stellar by any means, but it gives a decent option in the mids of zen2/zen3 and Tiger/Alder/Twin Lake laptops. The next question is will Windows OEM cut down their high margins on low end notebooks or at least produce a decent budget laptop? I've seen OEMs now outsourcing lower end notebooks to India and even the BIOS works differently.
