Asus has confirmed that it will be bringing a new Zenbook Duo laptop to CES 2026 next month in Las Vegas. In the meantime, the company has teased several upgrades over the current model, including an improved hinge, a redesigned keyboard accessory and a switch to dual batteries.

The Werewolf

I bought, and returned the first version of this for several reasons.

The first and most important - their design can't lie perfectly flat like a book. The hinge is designed to accommodate the keyboard, which lips between the screens when the laptop is folder closed. Unfortunately, that gap means they had to make the seam work strangely and makes one screen fold UNDER the other, causing a bump. So, it's hard to use for drawing or reading in "book mode".

Second, in Canada, the only option was the "Multilingual" keyboard, which if English is your main language, is a nightmare to use. Their version isn't too bad, but still, having the option to have the US keyboard  (or buy separately) would have been nice.

Third, while in most countries it came with a digital pen and backpack/carry bag, it did not in Canada. I could have bought it from B&H in the US and had it shipped to Canada, got the keyboard I wanted AND the pen and backpack... and still be cheaper than buying it at the local Best Buy.

If Asus has fixed these issues, it might be worth a second look.
