Lenovo goes one better and equips its mid-range Legion 5 15 with a brilliant OLED panel and the mobile GeForce RTX 5070, priced at €1,499 (approx. $1,742). This time, the Intel Core i7-13650HX handles the processing duties. Is this the best mainstream gaming laptop on the market?

only 8GB VRAM

QuoteOnly extremely memory-intensive titles may struggle due to the limited 8 GB of video memory.
Incorrect. On YouTube you can find many normal games tested and proof that 8 GB VRAM are not enough. Maybe you say this bc of:
QuoteThe test sample was provided to the author as a loan by the manufacturer or retailer for the purpose of this review.
And then on any review you sell ads, so you don't want to nag too much or you are less likely to get another review sample, am I right or am I right? Or maybe you are just uneducated?

Wait, if you can, for next year Refresh, which will use 3GB per GDDR7 chip, instead of the current 2GB (8 GB VRAM will then become 12 GB VRAM) (the 5090 Laptop with its 24 GB VRAM and a 5080 GPU chip is already using them, otherwise it would only have 16G B VRAM: See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_RTX_50_series#Mobile, the same GB203 chip is being used for 16GB configs and 24GB configs (256-bit / 32-bit per chip = 8 GDDR7 chips, once with 2GB per chip (16GB VRAM) and once with 3GB per chip (24GB VRAM). This is common knowledge.).

Also Intel heater CPUs :-D
QuoteBattery life is noticeably shorter than that of the AMD model.

only 8GB VRAM

PS: The 8GB VRAM not being enough is obviously considering the price of 1500 and for 800 to 1000 bucks it would be ok, but even then 8GB VRAM are simply not enough.

Before an Intel CPU, I prefer AMD.
It's a strange thing that happens with many manufacturers, and this has been happening for many years now, with their minimal commitment to HALO chips. Also, as mentioned above, you don't need a 395+. Just put a 385, whose iGPU is practically the same in a good laptop priced between €1,000 and €1,500, and they sell it like hotcakes.

HERE ARE THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF AMD HALO
Model, Zen 5 Cores, Max Boost, Cache, GPU (CUs), TDP
Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 16/32, 5.1 GHz, --80 MB, Radeon 8060S (40), 45-120 W
Ryzen AI Max 390, 12/24, 5.0 GHz, --- 76 MB, Radeon 8050S (32), 45-120 W
Ryzen AI Max 385.8/16, 5.0 GHz, ----- 40 MB, Radeon 8050S (32), 45-120 W
Ryzen AI Max 380.6/12, 4.9 GHz, ----- 22 MB, Radeon 8040S (16), 45-120 W
