Well, sucks to be us. Would have been standard since forever if we weren't so stupid to let geniuses like Tesla be messed up by greedy dorks. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. The rest will be flooding us soon :D pun intended...

Let's be clear, there was NO ELECTRICITY transmitted wirelessly. A laser consists of photons, not electrons. This is just replacing natural sunlight to power PV cells. It would still be useful in some situations but requiring direct line of sight between transmitter and receiver reduces practicality a lot as does laser spreading in the atmosphere.
