The EULA that accompanies delisted Ubisoft games requires players to destroy their purchases. Stop Killing Games is fighting to keep titles working after companies abandon them. A major representative for EU publishers opposes solutions like support for third-party servers.

The irony of your statement is funny. Just like you not reading the article, people don't actually read EULAs either. The article says this.

Then when Ubisoft took down a game, people likely were pissed and went to read the EULA to check their rights. At the time, they saw that the EULA has crazy stuff in there like requiring you to delete the game you already paid for if they remove it.

Mr Naldo

It's as if they're not even trying to deal with video game piracy.
We bought the game, it's ours!!
Screw your legalise!!
This isn't Blockbuster video!
We don't pay to rent, we pay to OWN!!

I don't buy Ubisoft games anyway.
Now you've endured I never buy them in the future.

Nobody Important

So Ubisoft can ensure a safer gaming experience than me and my buds hosting a lan party?  It seems like there's greater risk to my safety when I am force to log in to some undisclosed cloud that logs all my data...  But hey, when governments are corrupt, they only listen to big money.

I wish we actually owned things nowadays. We don't even actually own steam games anymore. How about we all go retro? It doesn't have to be in the 90's. If you have a DS, PSP, whatever, something that you actually own, and use it instead.

There isn't just greedy companies trying to make you own the license not the game itself, these are companies being anti-consumers with their high prices too and taking the ownership of your "license" because you did something that they don't like!
