A new report has revealed that children in the US would prefer games subscriptions and virtual currency over physical games for Christmas. A staggering 72% of US children expressed a desire for video game-related gifts for the upcoming holiday season.

Disgusting, but also illustrates that the supply is shaping what is demanded. If publishers keep pushing these kinds of things towards people then people are going to want it, especially children whose brains aren't fully developed.

What else would they want? A horse carriage? Was it different 20 years ago? Then they wanted PlayStation or Unreal Tournament 2003-2004 DVD so what exactly is different now? Was Half Life 1 so huge 23-25 years ago because no one wanted to play it or was it being played only by adults while kids were doing... what exactly?

Also 17 is children, hmm... (?)

QuoteAccording to a report released last week by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), children's holiday wish lists have shifted significantly. Among over 500 surveyed kids aged 10 to 17, a substantial 72%, express a desire for games-related products this Christmas. Only 22% have asked for traditional physical games, signaling a significant preference for digital and in-game experiences.

So this is a little kid?

And then suddenly 3-4 months later, poof - an adult? Ok.
