The technical specifications of the successor to Microsoft's Surface Go 2 have been unveiled in a Geekbench entry. The new tablet is expected to be announced this fall alongside the Surface Duo 2 and Surface Book Studio and will allegedly be powered by Intel's Amber Lake processors.

If they want to save cost why don't go with AMD. It will be cooler and use less battery underload too.

AMD isn't less expensive than Intel any more, if anything it's the opposite sometimes, just compare a 6C/12T 5600X (MSRP $299) against a 6C/12T 11600KF (MSRP $247). And they still haven't released any of the modern and power efficient Zen 2/3 APUs right now, with single digit TPD (5-6W) right now, Van Gogh is supposed to come out at some point later this year.

Consider steam deck is $399, I don't think Van goh is$299 let alone 5600u.

The Steam Deck isn't really indicative of anything, Valve's president has said that the Steam Deck is "very aggressive" and "painful" (for them), i.e. they're selling it at a loss.

T14s gen2 with 6cores AMD starting at $1200 while 4cores Intel start at $1300.

Actually right now the AMD T14s Gen2 starts at $1979, while indeed the Intel model starts at $1373...
