OnePlus has become linked to a controversy in which its 2021 line of flagship smartphones' version of Android (OxygenOS for the 9 series) was found to "throttle" a slew of popular and often necessary apps such as Chrome, yet unleash full performance in the presence of benchmarks. Now, the OEM has reportedly announced a solution in an upcoming software upgrades.
