A full MacBook Pro refresh is due later this year, with a switch to Apple's in-house processors reputedly planned. According to a new report, the 2021 MacBook Pro refresh will feature an HDMI port too, which dovetail with the return of the SD card for the series.

Currently available USB-C to HDMI dongles including proprietary one are just plain 1.4 crap and complete waste of money. USB-C to DP is a way to go as long as you have a compatible monitor.  HDMI 2.1 and SD card reader are welcome as one USB-A port also.  Dongles may be OK with MBA but 16 inch?? Doesn't make sense!
