SoC-embedded 5G modems should help reduce production costs and decrease energy requirements. The successor of the Snapdragon 855 is scheduled to be Qualcomm's first SoC with integrated 5G modem and it should first be featured in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S11-series. Qualcomm's upcoming flagship SoC is supposed to help with the adoption of the 5G standard through its 20 OEM partners.
