@David Allen, you can be sure that apple paid great money for each word in this vague and misleading sentence about aggressive 240 PWM.

Sony A1E OLED TVs do not use PWM according to Rtings.com. Not all OLEDs use PWM.

Is PWM especially common in smartphone OLEDs more so than TV OLEDs?

Interesting, the underlying rational for the widespread use of PWM on OLEDs is ultimately the amount of processing involved, with a TV's power supply and a good enough ISP I suppose that doesn't become a problem especially to high end models.
