Zero compromises... Today we evaluate the Tornado F5W, a high-end workstation from Eurocom. Considering that it's decked out with an Intel Xeon E3-1280 v5 desktop CPU and NVIDIA Quadro P5000 GPU along with an NVMe SSD and 64 GB of RAM, are there any weaknesses to speak of? If so, we'll find them.

QuoteColor coverage was decent overall with 57 percent of the sRGB and 87 of the AdobeRGB spectrums covered, respectively.
Looks like you got an error there, shouldn't it be the other way around?

Thanks for the review!
Can it handle 8700k? Seems like it can't since the vendor specifies max TDP 91W and 8700k is 95W? If so, how is this a CPU upgradable notebook?

Hey there nodir,

That would be a question best asked of Eurocom directly.  However, if I had to venture a guess, I'd say that the upgradeability probably is focused on preconfigured models with lower-end CPUs -- or, the possibility of moving to the next generation of CPU beyond this one (presuming sockets remain the same and the new chip is compatible).

Hope this helps.

For a workstation laptop, the benchmark application should be in field (for ex: specviewperf or 3D Model benchmark from 3D application like SolidWorks, AutoDesk)
Using a workstation-graded graphic card for gaming application is kinda wasteful IMO
Great in-depth review :)
