OnePlus has dropped the ball yet again, with a user discovering a data siphon that sends his private phone information and logs to a remote OnePlus server.

Can easily disable this through ADB or installing a ROM.

There are a lot of fixes for this, yes; some were even outlined. However, not everyone is so tech-inclined. This is something that shouldn't even be happening at all.

Is it sending this info even if

Settings - > Advanced - > Join user experience program

is turned off?

@vvv - OnePlus have stated that they collect information in two streams, which they have identified as "usage analytics" and "device information". It appears that switching off that setting is only disabling the usage analytics, and I would suspect that the IMEI, MAC address, phone number, and serial number would fall under device information. Without more information from OnePlus, or without someone like Chris (source) to test this, I can't say fully what information is still being collected.
