Gaming machine. MSI's GT72VR 7RE is a powerful 17.3-inch gaming notebook that handles modern games smoothly on the matte Full HD screen. The new Kaby Lake quad-core also leaves a good initial impression. Positive: The noise development is pretty restrained, despite the powerful hardware.

Nice!

Nice laptop, if I was in the market for a gaming laptop, this would be one that I would consider, again it's good to see a laptop with a high refresh rate screen (120Hz) - if I ever buy another gaming laptop again it will for certain have at least 120Hz.  Good sensible & effective configuration of parts on this laptop.

Update to my previous

Just noticed that this config is only single channel RAM, e.g. just one stick of RAM - this is not sensible, it will reduce CPU & RAM performance - RAM bandwidth greatly reduced.  While I'm sure you can fill the other RAM slot to make it Dual Channel, it should really be bought with 2 sticks of RAM for maximum CPU & RAM performance - I would have bought this system with x2 sticks of 8GB to make 16GB in total - don't need any more than this for gaming.

So, in terms of screen quality for photo/video, the result i get is the new TN panel is better than the IPS. am i right?
The AdobeRGB coverage is way bigger in the TN, once calibrated it has lower delta values, no ghosting or light bleeding, better contrast and black level.
Viewing angles have been improved, but who cares? it is not a tv. when i work i sit perfectly in front of the computer.

Please tell me if i'm wrong and why.

(compare to the MSI GT72VR 6RE-015US IPS LG panel)

MSI 7RE Purchase

Purchased this in January.  TN panel to me looks much better than other IPS.  It has dual channel RAM (confirmed).  2x8gb sticks.  Don't know why people  (like the guy below about the dual channel memory) provide false feedback.  Seems like a great laptop so far.  No issues with dead pixels, throttling or BSOD.  Very happy with purchase.  Let me know if you have any questions about this particular laptop.

Are there extra drive bays? And how would one stitch the graphics card?
