Laut NPD DisplaySearch könnte das iPad Mini Apples neuer Schrittmacher bei den Tablets werden. Als Grund nennt NPD die offenbar sehr hohen Verkaufszahlen des iPad Mini. Apple habe alleine für Q4/2012 mehr als 12 Millionen 7,85"-Displays bestellt.
