I have one of these and it was painfully slow, however when observing the amount of RAM in use it was close to 1GB all the time.  I put 2Gb of RAM in it and it is really fast now.  Windows 7 will not work adequately with 1Gb of RAM it is forever paging which takes all the time

A lovely netbook. Out of the box performance is mediocre with only 1Gb installed, but upgrade to 2Gb and it flies (some people report upgrading to 4Gb!?). Found 2Gb is enough for compiler and development at a decent speed. Plus it has an excellent keyboard. Grabbed a few for posterity since all modern notebooks have chiclet keyboards. Too bad Acer discontinued this line but in terms of balancing cost, size and capability in the smallest package possible it could be the finest PC ever made.

I have had an Asus Aspire One D270 for over a year. No problem - none of the keys have given away, the screen is safe, it is as light as a tablet and very often I can stand for long periods and work on the internet. It has 2GB (DDR3 memory ) and 320GB storage. Where else could you get that for $275. I am very happy with it

I have had the Asus Aspire One D270 for more than 2yrs now. No problem and its a great little one. If you are looking for gaming go for something bigger but for normal use - emails, storing documents, pictures etc it great. Even watch movies of a USB on it. No problem

My Acer Aspire One D270 is around my 10th computer and is the most determined little mobile computer I have ever had. I run AutoCad solid model demonstrations (I know, whathe?) and MS office 365. It chugs like a smoker with emphysema when running these applications that are meant for more powerful systems but it runs them just the same. It's like a pushbike pulling a train. I lost count how many time I have dropped this computer - it just keeps going. Battery life is still awesome two years on. Hmmm, I wonder if it can breath under water?

Great work Acer!

I Brought Acer AOD270 before two year, I am happy with the Lap...I didn't face any problem even now...very comfortable to use. Thanks to Acers. Brought this lap instead of mobile. But it worth.
