Compact PocketBook Verta e-reader packs color touchscreen into IPX4-rated body

[Redaktion]

The PocketBook Verse series is being replaced by two brand-new Verta models. The relatively compact e-readers come with a 6-inch display that can show either grayscale or up to 4,096 colors. The housing is IPX4-certified and therefore protected against water splashes.

Any word on Verta Pro?

sadly, at this price point, it can't compete with kindle. Even kindle 'walled garden' is no longer a drawback, as you can convert, easily and quickly (calibre) books into the azw3 (or whatever it's called) format, sideload them, and ever even get close to amazon 'ecosystem'. I didn't even registered my 3rd (?) hand kindle with (...) amazon. The only feature missing from all the readers are physical buttons. Including pocketbook ones.
