Microsoft has reportedly increased Windows licensing fees for PC manufacturers by 7–10% — a much larger hike than in previous years. The move could add further pressure to PC prices, which are already rising because of higher component costs.

But you're still going to pay for the "license" of something you won't use, wouldn't you?

(I'm aware that there exists are brands, mostly "indie", that lets you get a laptop without one for less or don't include it altogether in any of their models, but this should also be a thing everywhere on all brands like it used to.)
