A PS5 owner suddenly found themselves unable to launch their digitally purchased copy of Ghost of Yōtei, sparking a heated debate on Reddit. Many gamers see the incident as further proof that their criticism of Sony's digital strategy is justified.

I have a similar problem with ghost of tsushima. After they brought out the directors cut, i could not longer download the normal version even though i have bought it.

This sounds like Chat GPT wrote this article, or it's completely made up. If someone has a disc version of a game, it still needs to verify the license online unless the PS5 has never been online, but that'd be ridiculous as most games need day 1 patches anyway, if the guy has crap internet, and he hasn't been online for a week or so, yeah it wants to verify the license, it's been like that for about 5 years, which is why I solely play all games on the portal now, no installation required, click on a game in my digital library and within 10 seconds I'm at the start menu, this is the future of gaming. He needs to get sell his PS5 and all disc games and get a PS Portal, and PS Plus Premium subscription and there is literally 1000 digital games available to instantly stream.
