We recently tested two 14-inch Lenovo laptops with Intel Panther Lake - the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 and the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G9 IPL. Here are the most important differences!

Unfortunately for many people it comes down does it have a Trackpoint or not. It limits choices, which can be nice sometimes, but Thinkpads often fall short of the best combinations. It's a shame, given the Thinkpad legacy and the fact Trackpoint is a unique feature, that they take this strategy, it's anti consumer and can't be good for them to produce and support so many models. They should just provide a flexible base with replaceable keyboard, but they do not do that. Until mind reading works well, the Trackpoint is a great input device, once it's no longer an option these devices become a near brandless commodity.

Woof

They both have crappy Clickpads instead of proper glass touchpads or even haptic touchpads. Therefore I would not use either.

Once you use a proper touchpad like on a Macbook, it is impossible to degrade oneself with one of the crappy clickpads that Lenovo uses.

Guess

Some people just don't do research on the brand before putting in complaint comments. I've been thinkpad user for past 25yrs when the brand used to call IBM now is Lenovo, the laptop is top notch.
