Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IWC11 review: Intel Wildcat Lake Core 7 350 performance debut

At a time when anything new can often cost more than two grand, the upcoming Wildcat CPU instead targets budget-oriented laptops designed for students or home multimedia playback. Performance results are nothing too exciting for better or worse.

Low performance, but still cannot do anything without a noisy fan.

Look at A18 Pro. Comparable performance, better single thread, much more efficient, totally fanless.

Intel CPUs are just bad.

Really interesting results mixed in there, it almost looks as if the drivers are half baked with some of the performance numbers
That is, however, a Lenovo and/or Intel problem to solve before customers get their hands on these

In Europe we're getting the same model but somehow it weighs an extra 700 grams, so I wonder if it'll be better for sustained loads

Great work as per usual! Thanks for including the gaming testing.

And this may not be just Intel's node issue: Hardware Unboxed tested such a CPU that is made on a TSMC node, where everything else was being equal and they concluded that Intel's bad energy efficiency might not only be a Intel's node issue, but rather an architectural issue.

Their Panther Lake iGPU improved a lot, but it's made by TSMC.

Maybe it's time for Intel to move their CPU to TSMC as well. Intel can still put their backdoors on a chiplet made by them XD

neo fan

It is not problem of intel process. You can compare apple chips made in TSMC and intel once they will start production in intel.
I would say it is problem of x86 architecture and dumb managers in intel, who cannot understand that they can not compete with low power x86 cpu with low power arm cpu. Arm cpu will always win because of better efficiency. You can see that wildcat lake and low tier panther lake need 2 times more power to achieve same results as apple a18 pro. It will be much worse for intel if intel use a19 pro in neo next year. because it is 20% more powerful than a18 pro at same wattage.
In my opinion intel should totally abadonn low power laptop cpus, because they cannot compete with arm. second option is that intel will start manufacturing arm processors too. Once mediatek and qualcomm step into low power segment of laptops intel and amd are done. mediatek kompanio ultra 910 and snapdragon x2 alternative of X1-26 will crush whole line of panther lake with fanless design, half power consuption and price under 800 usd. Even neo will be not able to compete with them since price increase.
I dont understand why it didnt happened, but i assume it is because of windows, which still do not support mediatek cpus and they do want to  x2-26 to be made now, because it will redirect customers from their expensive surface laptops to other manufacturers which can made laptops with lower prices.
They only allow nvidia sparx with mediatek cpus because it will be even more expensive than microsoft laptops
