I've been trying to better understand how a multistage pump works in practical applications. From what I've read, it uses multiple impellers arranged in series, where each stage increases the pressure of the fluid as it moves through the pump.

My question is—when selecting a multistage pump, what factors matter most in real-world setups? Is it mainly about required pressure, or are there other considerations like maintenance, efficiency, or system compatibility that play a big role?
