The handheld version of the Sony PlayStation 6, the PlayStation 6 Portable, is expected to launch alongside the main console. With an RDNA 5 GPU and a 6-core Zen 6 CPU, the PS6 Portable is shaping up to be a beastly handheld that will reportedly be able to play games that launched for previous consoles.

So it will be a able to native play games but only digitally? So it's just another glorified streaming device since it won't be able to use physical media, but we need physical playability anywhere, use the big screen and main console when at home then the portable when anywhere else, similar to pc and the steam deck

You know the Steam Deck doesn't play physical games too right? All the games it plays is digital. Nowhere in the article states that the PS6 portable will be a streaming device, it says the opposite in fact.

If you have digital copies or licenses of your games, you can just download them onto the portable, same as you would on the PS5, and Steam Deck.

I would love to keep physical media as well for the next gen of consoles, but don't misunderstand what the article is trying to say.
