Canon PowerShot flagship compact camera rumored to launch with brand new sensor

After last year's PowerShot V1, Canon is finally set to launch a real flagship compact camera on the market this year, aimed specifically at photography enthusiasts. Rumors provide the first clues about this PowerShot camera, which is to be equipped with a brand new sensor.

A successor to the Canon G5X MK 11 with a newer processor that can take panoramic photos at 4 times the speed of the current one would be nice. Takes far better panoramic shots than an iPhone as you have the full optical zoom at your disposal prior to taking the photo. Although granted avoid using below 50mm equivalent when taking a panoramic photo. The only issue is that it can take 30-50 seconds to take one on the current model as I often have to have a couple of tries.

To be fair I'd need significantly more than that to be tempted, although it's nice to know Canon is actively doing something, rather than a refresh that can be powered by USB C (Cough, Cough, Panasonic).
