Why do people care so much about cell phones? They're overpriced by at least 500$ and will end up in the ocean once you decide to upgrade and the refurbished buyers decide it is too obsolete. This obsession with wasteful tech only accelerates the many crisis we are dealing with. It's also ridiculously childish. "Oooh the tiny cutout in the screen of my iPhone is a teeny bit smaller! Here's 1,200$ and my old phone, which works absolutely fine btw".
The only tech worth celebrating are those that are user repairable, which Apple will NEVER EVER do because they won't make as much money. And since folks associate android with poor people and Apple with higher class people, the propaganda has roots that are over a decade old, and even if every Android phone eventually becomes user repairable, it won't matter because it will never be as "sexy".
Don't people see where this is all leading??
