Lower DDR5 prices at some retailers aren't rattling the DRAM giant Samsung. A Korean report discusses how customers are paying more than in Q1 2026 for long-term contracts. If demand from AI data centers remains steady, smartphones, laptops, and consoles may stretch budgets further.

I am afraid we gonna reach a time when buying a laptop or computer or even a console is only possible for those with big pockets. The prices these days are criminal. Nice that Intel releases a very power panther lake cpu and next year zen6 and nova lake, but who is gonna buy a device that costs a fortune? I remember back in time when for example whiskey lake was newly released you could buy a decent laptop with it for around €750. Premium if you were willing to pay €1000. Now, a laptop with which are absolutely not premium but having a new generation cpu starts at €1500 or even more. and if you want to best cpu without dgpu you pay €2000 or even €3000. They may keep their overpriced sh*t.

I started this as a simple side hustle, and last month I made a little over $6,137 just working a few hours a day from my phone. If you want to check out how it works, the website has all the details.

This is a far future scenario. More realistically, your statement is going to apply to new hardware.

So the monopoly trio just keep raising prices, then conveniently blame AI

As usual no legal action towards price fixing
