Minisforum is updating the AI X1 Pro and is now giving the compact powerhouse the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, bringing an even more powerful APU to the fore that promises additional reserves, especially for demanding workloads and AI applications. But can the new processor actually meet the high expectations in practice?

when 192 GB or 256 GB RAM

QuoteThe only differences are the processor
Ryzen AI 400 series is unfortunately just a rename of the 300 series, so the CPU is the same. So, Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 are the same chip.

Just when I was about to write that the "AI" in the product name is so dumb, because there's nothing that makes this mini PC special in regards to AI, I saw:
Quotemax. 128 GB
I guess this is better than nothing, but I'd like to see up to 192 GB RAM support or the full 256 GB RAM support, tho.

(see under Connectivity)

For up to 192 GB or 256 GB RAM, right now this would mean 4 RAM stick slots and even slower than 5600 MT/s, as 64 GB per SODIMM is the highest memory density currently available.

SOCAMM2 / LPCAMM2 would also have been nice, because under Connectivity, AMD states that LPDDR5x-8533 is supported by this APU.
