The Nvidia N1X ARM APU is reportedly Team Green's first APU specifically designed for Windows laptops. However, a prominent leaker claims that Nvidia N1X has tons of bugs and issues, which could be the reason why there have been no signs of N1X-powered notebooks launching soon.

Terror Byte

Scumbag AI spruiker, Leatherman, would not have diverted enough funds from AI to software development for the mere consumer market. N1X was already delayed 6 months as it was due out originally middle of last year.

You would literally have to be insane to rush out and buy N1X, when N2X is coming only 12 months later, and it's bound to be a lot worse release than Qualcomm's ARM effort.

A big problem with not just n1x but Snapdragon X2 Elite too is that because arm64 cpus calculate math slightly differently from x86_64 cpus, it causes mismatches / crashes / desync issues when an arm laptop tries to play online multiplayer games with x86_64 clients. It's especially problematic when running x87 code as well which is used in older retro games.

So unfortunately, the s/w just isn't quite there yet for a multitude of reasons besides their own. But I do hope these arm pcs do well anyway, just to keep halo and panther lake prices in check / reasonable.

Wth. Ok, that's super odd. Won't let me post links to the source. Either the mention of discord or chat is being censored here now?

Kay.. after 7 attempts I ragequit. :(

Goddamn, forums being retarded. There is no phone support text being mentioned? x_X

The ARM PC market share has to reach a certain level to even have a chance to create the onus to support it. Hopefully we don't wind up with a slightly more polished product launched way too late.

Yes, it's annoying with the "phone number", which is not a phone number or sometimes when a post is quoted, the retarded system "thinks" it's a phone number (maybe the system should check that it's a quote of a post with existing link=msg=.. and date=.. numbers on this very database..).
But you can simply post the domain name + title or the URL without the https and www in front of it.

A similar discussion involving Apple M1 blames special functions like sine and cosine.

This claims M1 produces differences from intel at 32bit but same at 64bit.

Yup, that's it. Affects apple hardware too.

Hope this works, more sauce:

I'm not searching any discord, but thanks for posting. Best and only is to show/film the screen how, while playing an online multiplayer game, it crashes and put the vid on YouTube, of course.

Just realised something

Yeh, that would probably be best but even if someone did, most devs have stated they're not going to support online multiplayer with different CPU arch (as it diverts attention to other things which are higher priority), so that's likely why nobody even bothers wasting the time to upload a video.

That the most they could do is only enable online multiplayer for those with same CPUs. x86 with x86 and aarch64 with aarch64. But since there there's so few arm players (1-2) that means Snapdragon x and apple m online multiplayer is effectively dead.

Emulators also recommend against it as well. It was an issue with dolphin in the past, not sure if it still is as haven't used it in a decade:

"The AArch64 JIT and the x86-64 JIT can produce very slightly different code
...
We do not recommend netplay between different CPU architectures unless all players involved are advanced users."
