Best Buy has discounted the Lenovo LOQ 15 Gen 10 gaming laptop by more than $450 compared to the list price. As a result, the latest iteration of the popular Lenovo LOQ 15 series has dropped to its record-low price. The Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 on sale features an RTX 5060 laptop GPU and a Core i7-13650HX CPU.

The display is crazy slow

It's not a true 144 Hz display. The pixel response times of 21.2 ms and 33.9 ms, make it really is a 1/0.0212 = 47 Hz and 1/0.0339 = 29 Hz. These are extreme low values.

Sometimes I wonder if this is artificial market segmentation or if a faster display is that much more expensive? Probably only like 20 $ more expensive (judging by everything that is known about this topic), so it's rather market segmentation, which makes sense as this LOQ is the lowest LENOVO Legion line. Either way, this is just a too slow display: I once had a BENQ 144 Hz 27" 14ms display, and even at its best overdrive setting, it left smears in games.

Solution: If there are no reviews of a particular display and you want a fast display, get an OLED (typical pixel response times are ~1ms).

Also, it's only 8 GB VRAM: See notebookchat.com/index.php?topic=255910.msg694090#msg694090, but since it's only 850 bucks...the slow display may become the bigger issue..crazy..now there's no need to pick either of the poisons, instead get both.

You know what, you might just be right.

Lenovo does not list exact panel IDs but seeing how a 3 ms response time is specified for the costlier panel - with nothing for the 144 Hz one - we have to assume the worst.

Thanks.

Regarding the $20 price difference, I personally think it's even smaller but with these super aggressively priced models, every single dollar matters.
