Many media players have tried to top the Nvidia Shield TV Pro since its 2019 debut. Even today, a fast processor and plentiful ports make it the best streaming device for demanding viewers. For Black Friday, the Shield TV Pro is $30 off during an Amazon sale, with the potential for more savings.

It's using the chip on the Switch... maybe an updated version with the chip on the Switch 2 is coming?

One would think, right. We love our Shields but it's long over due for... not just a refresh... but an evolution.

No, AV1, no USB 3.1+ support, no HDMI 2.1 support, no tensor cores (it's the future), lame 3GB RAM for today's stuff (it crawls/microstutters on some today's intense stuff), only 16GB internal storage... on & on. Nvidia is in a great position today to drop handcuffed Google crap... why? FULL (no workarounds) bit-perfect audio, ect!

Its crazy how little the shield has depreciated. Stock TV hardware has basically caught up now in terms of performance and even exceeded it in most ways. The console although 2019 version has hardware from 2015 era, and NVIDIA has an update for it maybe once ever 1-2 years lol. Its insane they dont have a new version of it w/ better hardware acceleration.
