OnePlus has confirmed that Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will underpin the OnePlus 15R when it goes on sale next month. Destined to arrive with a 165 Hz OLED display, the OnePlus 15R will be the first smartphone released globally with Qualcomm's latest high-end chipset too.

If the R series no longer comes with a telephoto lens setup, what's the point then? It's almost like they're wanting to steer people to budget Nord series.

The only thing nice about this is the new additional IP rating protection but unsure if that alone is enough to warrant upgrading and spending several hundreds on.
