Xiaomi is expanding its HyperOS 3 rollout to more devices, with the Xiaomi Pad 7 now joining the list. The Android 16-based update brings performance boosts, fresh design tweaks, and AI-powered tools, with several more Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models set to follow later this month.

Xiaomi's updates are the WORST! I have a Xiaomi 15T Pro, bought in Asia, not Europe, and still no any update. Stuck on some old version... Xiaomi updates EU market first and lets other hang in there for a long time!

Reading all the news you'd think Xiaomi is rolling out updates to many devices, but that's simply not true. Google Play updates are also often months late, even for new and more premium devices. People need to know this.

One of the things I like least about Xiaomi is their updates. I have the Xiaomi iPad 7 Pro, the latest model they released, and I recently received the latest update. However, according to what I've read, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 processor, I'll only get 3 years of operating system updates and 4 years of patches, while Samsung provides 7 years of operating system updates and patches. I think the sheer volume of products means these Chinese companies don't prioritize updates, which should at least be provided for 7 years, like Google and Samsung do.

Don't worry, I'm German and I bought the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro directly from Xiaomi via their website.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to check today if there was an update for my pad.
No, no update.
I have Android 15, no Android 16 update anywhere.
I should have received the update two weeks ago.
So I don't know why some websites claim that Android 16 is already available and live.
Also, the latest Android security patch for my Pad is from September 2025, while every Google Pixel already has the November update.
But it could be worse, as with Redmagic and other brands.
I have a Redmagic 10 Pro here.
Android 15, no information about Android 16, and the latest Android security update is from M A Y 2025.
Yes, MAY 2025!
These Chinese brands are absolute garbage.
This pad and the Redmagic phone are the first and last products I will ever buy from a Chinese brand.

And as a sidenote: The Redmagic 10 Pro was 800 Euros, not even a year old and is treated like it was a 299 euro phone. LMAO.
Never again.
