Ugreen has launched two new NAS systems - the DXP4800S and DXP4800 Pro - with affordable price tags. Although the products are not available internationally just yet, their specifications have been detailed to give international customers an idea of what to expect in the event of a global rollout.

They're well known in phone and computer accessories (cables, chargers, docks, etc.) but I've (and pretty sure many others) never heard of them making NAS systems until now. What?

They're well known in phone and computer accessories (cables, chargers, docks, etc.) but I've (and pretty sure many others) never heard of them making NAS systems until now. What?

They've been building NAS for some time now, and managed to gain extra popularity when Synology started introducing anti-customer policies: artificially removing HW transcoding, using decade-old CPUs, keeping slow LAN ports, removing 3rd party drive compatibility (this one hit hardest, so they were forced to remove that artificial limitation), removing support for 1st party apps...

The list is long, and customers were getting fed up, so Ugreen came to the rescue with decent hardware, decent price, a not-so-bad OS, and especially: facilitating an easy way of installing a pro-grade OS. If one is looking for something powerful but not so expensive, Ugreen has great bang for the buck (compared to Synology, QNAP, etc.). If one is looking for that plus a pro-level OS + ecosystem, Ugreen is also great because they make it easy for you to install a 3rd pro-level OS.

So... basically Ugreen has invested heavily on attracting 2 major user profiles, and Synology, QNAP, Asustor, etc. are starting to feel the pressure.

It seems to me that the CPUs are reversed, i.e., the author got confused by the long sentence...respectively.
This would better explan both LAN port, etc. AND the price...  N150 is not likely the most expensice option!!??
