A popular Windows game emulator for Android, Winlator, has hit a development pause. The developer, BrunoSX, shares that this decision was made in response to the accusations and attacks that the dev has faced in the last few days.

Blinkz

It is really sad to hear this message, because this emulator has helped me complete many of my favorite PC games on my smartphone. I wish he would forget those haters and return to the project, because we really need him and love him.  He may not know how far his name and project have reached—it is worldwide, and we all need him. So please, BrunoSX, forget the few haters and come back to the project to help us worldwide

Spare me

Well, it wouldn't be a true android emu without having such drama and ending, am I right?

What I find truly interesting is the fact that if we took a moment to roleplay for a sec and reverse roles. Imagine if we had a emu on windows and the developer was accused of similar accusations and attacks.

Would it go on a hiatus and pause development indefinitely? Honestly?

Highly unlikely. It's almost becoming like a cliché at this point.

I mean, who's gonna pause development on the windows platform because someone managed to get themselves a virus? You'd literally be pausing every single day, lmao. That's no longer an app or user issue. Windows by default as a platform is literally that insecure.

Mogador

He could just acknowledge the virus and apologize whether it's intentional or not.
But instead he tries to gaslight everyone by implying the virus doesn't exist and it's just smear campaign.
And he said he works alone? That's literally his own fault for not publishing the source codes for recent versions so even if people want to audit or contribute they simply can't.
