RTX 5070 Ti price manipulation allows GPUs to meet pre-release date review guidelines

eBay will not be the only place to find the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti at shockingly high prices. The first reviewed GPUs on February 19th are supposed to have a $749 MSRP. Still, without a Founders Edition, manufacturers are taking massive liberties with Nvidia's suggested pricing.

I am pretty sure I know the reason behind the increased prices in the US. Earlier in the year, Donald Trump introduced 25% tariffs on all imports, and $1259 is about 25% more than $999, meaning there is a very high likelyhood that the tariffs are the cause behind the increased prices rather than price manipulations. By these calculations, i assume the price for to 5070 ti would be around the $950 range in the US. Congratulations, you made everything in the US so much more expensive than it would've been! That was mentioned as a cause in the article. Raising prices was probably inevitable, but in the case of the RTX 5080, doing it a week after release isn't going to sit well with consumers.

No, Donald Trump did not introduce a "25% tariffs on all imports" earlier in the year. He introduced an additional 10% tariff on the goods with the County of Origin 'China' earlier this year. Also, such a tariff applies to the much lower  wholesale price that a US Importer (such as NVIDIA) pays for the China-origin goods that it imports - not to the MSRP. In other words, your assumptions are incorrect on many levels.
