Price-to-feature ratio – It costs significantly more than many third-party docks that offer the same, or even more, connectivity options.
Limited port selection – The official dock has only a handful of USB-A ports, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort. Competing docks at half the price often provide additional ports (USB-C, card readers, extra HDMI/DP outputs, Ethernet passthrough, etc.).
No included power brick – You're expected to use the Steam Deck's original charger, while some third-party docks include their own power adapter, saving the hassle and leaving your main charger free.
