Dell only announced its first laptop with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip, namely the XPS 13 (9345), on Monday. The company has now confirmed that the device will be the first laptop in the world to be delivered with a tandem OLED display like in the new Apple iPad Pro.

With the statements "likely" and "up to", it might also be much less. As so often, initially we only get uninteresting video battery runtimes, which tend to be much exaggerated compared to general Wifi battery runtimes. So "16 hours" threaten to become less than 5 hours for real usage.

What is this trash? LG in 2017., they have a patent for "tandem OLED" since then when they invented it. But yeah, nothing ever exists anywhere until Apple. Apple has created the whole planet.

It's not "Tandem OLED panels", the name of this TYPE of panel is DOUBLE LAYER OLED, and LG has had patents for them for over 10 years, they were already used in panels in some cars. The reason for not being used in other devices is the price: obviously it is at least 2x more expensive than a common OLED, but beyond the extra brightness there are no other advantages. Apple was the first to assume this extra cost, as its products have a higher profit margin.
