The Latitude 9440 2-in-1 represents the biggest and perhaps riskiest change in the Latitude 9000 series to date. Some of the design choices are definitely nice to see from a visual perspective, but others can feel like a step backwards.

$2,900 for an intel with Graphics Xe in which it is impossible to play AAA games EVER.
At least for that price I could have put AMD ZEN 4 Phoenix which has RDNA 3 which is twice as powerful and artificial intelligence.
That price is ridiculous and does not match the reality of the product.

soldered RAM wt..

julia_top, correct (I think the successor Intel iGPU has improved), 2900 bucks is just way too much and the (only - for that price) 32 GB RAM are also unfortunately soldered. The 6400 MT/s don't justify the RAM being soldered, even 9000 MT/s wouldn't. Looks more like planned obsolescence. Same planned obsolescence with Lenovo T14s AMD: G2, G3 and G4. Instead I may get an EliteBook Ryzen 6000 (Zen3+,RDNA2) series instead. I'm not buying your soldered-only-32-GB-RAM planned obsolescence. If it was at least 48 GB RAM or better 64 GB RAM, it would be different, but even with 64 GB RAM the 2900 is still (way) too much indeed (and even now with the 3x higher RAM prices because of AI). Also RAM can go bad and if it's soldered, one can't replace it.
I know this is an old topic, but it's not that old and people may still consider getting this laptop (used / refurbished / new). 32 GB RAM soldered don't allow me to upgrade to more RAM to run the bigger and better local LLMs, which I personally want, but others may don't and then 32 GB, depending on the price, may be ok.
