Also you can't compare it to other EV manufacturers because other EV manufacturers do not offer the same type of technology that Tesla has from charging all the way up into the software in the cars. Next closest company Rivian is in big trouble. Watch the YouTube videos of somebody trying to take one of those across the country

Is this something that you really want to publish here?

China makes it easy to get confused with their "EV" numbers, yes, but you're a news site - you're supposed to do your job and find out the whats and ifs.

BYD sold 1.83 million cars in general, which is both BEVs (aka actually electric cars) and Plug-in Hybrids (aka ICE vehicles that a few owners like to charge from time to time for the gimmick of it, since it has a tiny battery compared to BEVs and it's main drive is gas).

Yeah, in China they count both as electric and in official documents in the same metric - but that doesn't mean we need to buy that BS too.

This is the typical textbook life cycle of new technology; company 'A' develops a technology.  Exorbitant profit is made due to no competition.  Other companies want in on the action, produces a similar product at a lower MSRP, lower profit margins, then cycle of cost-cutting begins...  This is not a mystery, we are no reinventing the wheel, folks!
