Future Windows 11 Pro releases will annoyingly mandate Microsoft account login during Setup

Microsoft confirmed that upcoming Windows 11 Pro releases will require signing-in with a Microsoft account if the device is being setup for personal use — a requirement that only applied to Windows 11 Home editions so far. Mandating Microsoft account logins for even accessing basic OS functionality can be frustrating for those who perform frequent maintenance and installations without an internet connection.

Deepin Linux couldn't have made a better time to emerge (for some time now) as a Windows competitor:

1.  Runs fast on old hardware.  No BS about having the latest hardware just to run Win11.  Or other silly requirements like TPM, etc.
2.  Centered taskbar, rounded corners.  It is Windows 11 trying to copy the looks of Deepin not the other way around.
3.  Has own Chromium-based browser using latest Chromium release.  Lol as if Edge/Firefox are the only players on the Chromium scene (aside Google Chrome).  BUT without the data mining found in Edge/Firefox!
4.  Has built in goodies Win 11 don't have (can download torrents thru included download manager, can copy texts from images etc.)

This is the most disgusting move in Microsoft's history.

Needless to say, it violates EU and German laws and their principles of minimum necessary privacy violation (which is --- none --- for the sake of running an operating system) and opt-in (which is not opt-out).

It's like they are on purpose sabotaging themselves.

So, it seems its either Linux or MacOS from now on.

In windows 11 home at least is already like this, but you can turn airplane mode on during setup and go back a screen for the local account promt
