The Huawei MatePad Pro 2 is currently touted as an upcoming rival to the iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S7-series slates. According to a Weibo-based tipster, it might launch with HarmonyOS in China, at least. This new leak includes screenshots indicating that this UI will provide a "Dual Dock" when in tablet mode.

This looks just like my iPad from the dock on the bottom to the positioning of the icons and icon style.

Use android SDK, throw an Apple design on it and call it a new system. Typical chinese "invention"

And it will probably be usable in China only with their region specific ecosystem and apps. Without gms, it's really difficult to get all the apps working properly. Assuming they're using Android for it. Just look at Mate Pad 8 which is running on Android striped of gms. It's really difficult to get gms working on it and even so there's no guarantee everything will work out well - given the latest sw update, even that might not be possible anymore. Just think about it: YouTube, gmaps, waze, music and video streaming apps etc.
Then you ask yourself. Who wants to pay premium for a browsing only tablet?

arstechnica did a nice coverage on this Huawei OS. Nothing to get excited about it.

No need to single out that they are from China or Chinese, there's enough sinophobia and Asian hate going around and that only fans the flames. American or European "innovation" is literally no better. Source: last thousand years of copying Asian inventions.

Apparently you're making it about racism which is not the case. Nor about who invented gun powder and all of that hundreds or thousands of years ago.

Let's stick to the current reality, shall we? It wouldn't be the first time Chinese based businesses do that, and that's a fact. They started recently to innovate since they gathered enough know how from the others. It's not to say others are not doing it, but the scale at which this happened in China was way bigger and furthermore, this was generally accepted by local authorities. It's much easier and cheaper to let others put a lot of effort and money in R&D and innovation, and then copy the product and slightly change it to avoid the obvious. Again, there's lots of stuff on this topic once you look it up.
