The new XMG Ultra 17 M20 desktop-replacement systems integrate an advanced cooling system that filters dust particles from heatsinks and allows for CPU TDPs of up to 125 W, with GPU TGPs of up to 200 W. Such processing power requires two 280 W PSUs and at least a 97 Wh battery. Schenker also added 240 Hz displays with 100% sRGB color gamut and a 4K display option with 100% Adobe RGB color gamut.

Schenker kept the best parts for Intel. Apex 15 is not the same.

Sorry for putting a link from another site, but there is a nice table there showing exactly that

Depends how you look at it. The Intel DTR is pretty much stationary, way more heavier, and within few months will loose a lot of value due to GPU generation change. 2080S maybe less but if Ampere has distinct new features that will be useful over Turing cards then even that will be somewhat "old". All that has to happen is amazing DXR visuals in like Cyberpunk 2077 and drastically more DXR performance in Ampere SKUs.

Apex 15 with RTX 2070 is also very fragile to this as it's non-Super so quite "midrange" raster performance and rather weak DXR.

Shame true eGPU didn't picked up.

I will wait for next 2 or 3 years, when Nvidia release rtx 3080 with 7 nm. I also want cpu amd with new socket in this laptop. Intel cpu is so hot and low performance because of the 14 nm process

I wouldn't call APEX 15 'fragile'. ;) Check out this new review.

Meanwhile: why don't we see any offerings with AMD "H" Series CPU and RTX 2070 and up? And why don't we have RTX 2080 in APEX 15 with AMD Desktop CPU?

In my humble opinion, it's a combination of:

- Limited Support from AMD (they have good silicon but the R&D manpower is stretched thin)
- Testing the water/market first. While tech enthusiast in most regions might be super excited about AMD and multicore performance, but Joe Sixpack or [insert your random commercial IT decision maker] might think differentlty
- Lack of experience dealing with AMD's power management
- Lack of experience dealing with AMD's memory support, drivers and firmware
- Unclear supply/allocation situation on key components (although this applies more to mobile parts, not Desktop)
- Some people (e.g. Igor Wallossek from Igor's Lab) even say that AMD does not have good power balancing features, especially if you want to cool CPU and dGPU with combined heatsinks and you want to manage the CPU power consumption while a GPU with more than 115W is drawing 100%.

Give it some time, we'll see what happens. :)

Cheers,
Tom
