Chromebooks are typically seen as cheap pseudo-laptops that are only fit for typing notes and browsing the web. While that was certainly the case years ago, Chromebooks and Chrome OS have rapidly matured over the past few years. Modern Chromebooks are capable machines, and while Chrome OS still has its limitations, the devices are more than glorified web browsers. Case in point: Chromebooks are now able to competently game, though there are still some caveats.

Nice that this finally works on all chromebooks rather than a select few. But what about OpenCL support? Considering more chromebooks are used for productivity than gaming, OpenCL would be more desirable.

You should at least mention cloud-based gaming solutions. I believe Stadia was created for this exact purpose, and while it still has the issue of "you can't use it without wifi", it solves the first problem you listed in the web-based section of "shallow experiences" since it has many full-fledged AAA titles.

If you hate Stadia, that's fine, but GeForce Now should be coming up with a chrome-os solution soon too, not to mention Steam streaming using steam in the linux container, or other options like Parsec.

All of these solutions add network latency, but all of these solutions solve low disk space / low cpu power / poor game selection problems.

Worth mentioning you can get a gaming VM from shadow.tech and login to it from your Chromebook and play the latest games on max settings. It's what I do for a few extra demanding games.
