Uruguay hat die ersten 100-Dollar-Laptops bei der Organisation "One Laptop Per Child" (OLPC) bestellt. Anfang 2009 sollen 85 bis 90 Prozent der Schulkinder zwischen 6 und 12 Jahren mit einem Laptop arbeiten können.
