Xiaomi reveals first batch of devices eligible for HyperOS 4 beta update

HyperOS 4 is now official, and as usual, Xiaomi will carry out beta testing with the firmware first. Among all, eight devices are set to receive the Android 17 update on August 14, 2026, and the company has also revealed the other eligible models for the first batch.

I hope that "memory improvement" means that HyperOS won't be as extremely aggressivly freeing memory all the time.

Example: With Firefox, even though I have set it as "no restrictions", is sometimes unusable because if I go to another app and back, the page refreshes, losing whatever I've been doing in that page.

It's especially bad when buying stuff, going to the bank app to confirm something, and then back, and things erroring out.

It happens with my 3 GB of RAM MIUI phone... And exactly the same on my 16 GB of RAM HyperOS phone.

One would expect that the 16 GB of RAM phone wouldn't need to be as aggressivly freeing RAM.

Very annoying.

Other than that, I'm extremely happy with my Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
But please, Xiaomi, fix that!
